Drs. Mehmet TÜTÜNCÜ

Mehmet Tütüncü is the chairman of  SOTA institute which researches the crossroads and intersections of the Turkish and Arabic worlds especially as it relates to the Ottoman Empire’s Arab provinces. He is also a specialist of Dutch-Ottoman relations. He has worked extensively in the Dutch National Archives for various research projects including the 400 years of Turkish and Dutch relations the exhibition and book.

He is the editor of Turkish Islamic Inscriptions series of SOTA and is currently on Ottoman Mediterranean (North Africa) and Western relations, as well as Dutch-Algerian and Dutch-Moroccan relations.
